Session Description
I wish to conduct a roundtable discussion on the Women With A Purpose organization as a whole, as well as our goals and what we do as a club in order to achieve those goals. I would relate my group and our initiative to the overall theme of worldwide gender equality. Some questions that I would possibly present are as follows:
1. Do boys and girls have the same opportunities in your school and in your community?
2. Do you see any need for more awareness of the importance of gender equality?
3. What can girls do to support each other and improve the lives of girls everywhere?
4. Why is it important for girls to understand their "purpose" in life?
5. Once a girl identifies her purpose and her goals in life, what obstacles might prevent her from achieving them? How can she overcome those obstacles?
What will youth learn and be able to do at the end of the session?
Through my roundtable discussion, anyone attending would be more adept at both challenging sexism and finding a purpose within the realm of gender equality.
