Dr. David M. Milch
Dr. David M. Milch is chairman of the OTT (over-the-top) television network BeTerrific and sister network GivingTV: Broadcasting Philanthropy, which connects sponsors, audiences and live participants through socially conscious programming. Additionally, Dr. Milch is president and founding co-partner of film and TV production company MiLA Media, and producer of the award-sweeping feature film Past Life which was distributed in the USA by Samuel Goldwyn Films. Mila is currently executive producing the second film in a trilogy by the same award-winning team in addition to producing a debut feature film entitled Sara. His nonfiction credits encompass four feature length documentaries in progress, including multiple-award-winner Joe Lovett's Children of the Inquisition.
Dr. Milch has a long philanthropic history supporting education and the arts. He has invested and participated in producing a number of live theatrical shows on and off Broadway including Avenue Q, In The Heights, West Side Story and Finian’s Rainbow, for which he received a “Best Musical Revival” Tony Award nomination as Producer in 2009.
Dr. Milch is a graduate of Harvard Medical School, having completed his undergraduate studies in biology at Amherst College/Stanford University. Since 1980 he has been a principal of Bermil Industries, a closely held corporation controlled by the Milch Family, involved with capital equipment manufacture and distribution, financing, real estate development and other entrepreneurial activities.
Dr. Milch and his associates have invested in and advised on a wide variety opportunities including The American Blood Institute (private sale), Intelligent Medical Imaging (IPO), Biofield (IPO), Nitinol Medical Technologies (IPO), Datatec Systems (reverse merger) and Games24X7.com, MiniMed (acquisition by Medtronic), and Advanced Bionics (acquisition by Boston Scientific). He is Founder and Vice Chairman of Allium Medical (TASE: ALMD), a fully integrated publicly-listed medical device company in Israel.

Session Description
Discover a game changer! This presentation introduces the iEARN community to GivingTV: Broadcasting Philanthropy, an over-the-top (OTT) digital network connecting charitable causes, sponsors, audiences and live participants through programming that elevates, enriches and inspires change.
Drawing on the experience of GTV’s sister network, BeTerrific, in creating content focused on gaming and esports, the session will also explore how iEARN can amplify its resonance among global youth and educators through projects created in game-inspired formats. Learn about the opportunities offered by leading-edge media technology designed to maximize reach and impact. Our exploration will include a look at the social context in which gaming takes place.
What will educators learn and be able to do at the end of the session?
The goal of our session is to foster an exchange of ideas about how the iEARN community can spark real-world change using games and livestreaming communications technology that help participants to learn, improve their communities and help make the planet a better place.
