Deepak Kulkarni been in the teaching profession for 38 years and is the headteacher of National English Primary School, Virar and the trustee of National Education Society.
The first Indian teacher to be bestowed with the honour roll of Association of Science and Technology, Washington. D.C. U.S.A. in 1994 for the exceptional work in propagating science in rural areas.
Has been carrying out the mobile science exhibition in remote rural areas which has by now covered 247 rural schools and also developed the concept ‘Laboratory in a carry bag’ to enable students to perform scientific experiments with such materials. The apparatus are created by recycling everyday materials.
Has been a validated global trainer in London and works as a freelance Certified Educational Consultant for the British Council and visits schools in different parts across India to impart training on subjects ranging from ISA, leadership and core skills.
Recipient of CASTME International Award, GREAT BRITAIN- 2005.
Presented a paper in Taj Residency Aurangabad, India during the Indo –US Conference in 2005
Received Global Teacher Accreditation for the paper on Vocabulary from British Council.
Conducted lessons and participated in the UK Teacher and Student exchange programmes.

Is the international coordinator of National Education Society.
Attended the British Council conference in Odisha, India on Global School Partnership and established the Young Global Citizens Educational Trust which actively works to propagate indiscrimination and better educational practices in schools.
Hosted and assisted 19 staff exchange teachers to India from the UK.
Collaborated with 11 schools in the UK, set the school’s partnership with Queen Mary Avenue School, Lincolnshire, UK and it was adjudged as one of the best partnerships carried forward in difficult circumstances by Connecting Classrooms, UK.
Hosted 28 students from various universities in the UK for a day session on Global Citizenship and teaching learning procedures.
Organized the Students Exchange programme(July 2017) to the UK with 19 students and 3 staff to Tibshelf Community School, Derbyshire, UK
Arranged Global Exhibition 6 times featuring international postcards, coins and currencies, newspapers, souvenirs, letters, stamps and other cultural aspects to promote international dimension in the learning process.
Has been a part of the school team that trains students to crack the Cambridge YLE and Main Suite English examinations.
Featured in 5 newspapers of the UK for the work done in Global School Partnership.
Set up of 200 and more students in the project ‘Global Penpals’ and also cultural exchange with 52 people from various countries.
Provided free English speaking sessions for 38 girls at an orphanage and 150 women as a part of community service.
Session Description
Global citizenship is the need of the hour. The participants will explore, exchange, and collaborate on various global issues and provide pathways to tackle the same. The session will emphasize on the concept and aspects of global citizenship through different interactive activities. It will also promote the importance of collaboration and exchanges to develop global citizenship.
What will youth learn and be able to do at the end of the session?
The session will help the participants to probe into aspects such as global citizenship and interdependence and their significance in today’s world, discuss whether global citizenship is a new concept, the need of realizing the importance of acquiring skills and techniques to promote global citizenship and elucidate the role of teacher and student exchanges in promoting Global citizenship.
