Session Description
Knowledge to Action (K2A) is a Design Thinking Framework, influenced by Stanford University’s Design School. This framework provides all students with a unique opportunity to collaborate using creativity, innovative thinking and global competencies to convert their learning into positive action. This action has impact at the personal, local and/or global level. In this interactive session, participants will engage as learners in a portion of the Knowledge to Action process which facilitates individual-driven research and inquiry, and results in an action oriented solution to a g-local (global to local) issue. For this session, we will focus on the global issue of Climate Change.
What will educators learn and be able to do at the end of the session?
- I will collaboratively engage in the Knowledge to Action process.
- I can articulate what the Knowledge to Action (K2A) process is, and how design thinking builds global competence.
- I can utilize World Savvy tools as support in implementing a K2A project in my classroom.
- I can leverage group experience and passion and learn from others in an open exchange of ideas and practice.
